This two-part series will provide public health leaders with tools to identify skills, organizational practices, and infrastructure to achieve health equity.
During Part I (March 20, 2014) participants will learn: benefits of completing the self-assessment, how to get started, and the components of the toolkit.
In Part II (April 17, 2014) participants will learn how to use each component of Self-Assessment.
Representatives from health departments that have implemented the toolkit will share their lessons and how they applied data gathered during the self-assessment. The presenter, Gail Brandt led a team of 11 state health departments to revise the Local Health Department Organizational Self-Assessment for Addressing Health Disparities. Following initial revisions, three state health departments piloted the Self-Assessment. Based on their feedback the Self-Assessment is ready for release.
