I have a Bachelor's in Nursing, a Master's in Health Administration and a Master's in Nursing. I have worked in many areas in nursing starting as a floor nurse and working my up to administration. My husband and I started a Medical Staffing Agency in 2001, sold our business in 2008. We began diabetic education on a limited basis in Mamelodi in 2011 and are now developing an evidence-base program using the most current IDF and SEMDSA guidelines and laying the critical foundation for DSME.
Brownhardt Organization, NFP
In September of 2014, I incorporated a non-for-profit, Brownhardt Organization, NFP. We are a 501c(3) and will begin type 2 diabetic education in Mamelodi, South Africa. We plan to expand to other underserved townships as resources allow. My capstone project for my MSN was the development of a non-for-profit and an evidence-base program for the underserved population at risk for type 2 diabetes who have government Public Sector Health Care. Our story is much more than a professional endeavor, it's a calling from God. This vision has been cultivated through watching Pastor Vincent Nyathi and his wife Gloria struggle endlessly trying to get their daughter Busi, a brittle diabetic since age 3, the proper treatment, interventions and education necessary to live a successful life.
