The August 2014 edition of the Rhode Island Medical Journal contains a report written by the Rhode Island Department of Health that examines the prevalence of the 'Big Seven' to estimate the burden on public health that these conditions create. The report also takes a look at the public health impact of these chronic conditions on Rhode Island's health care system. Read the report here. The CDC Arthritis Program funds 12 state health departments, including Rhode Island, to provide a public health response to the population affected by osteoarthritis and other types of arthritis.
