CDC hosted each state's State Public Health Actions/1305 team at the CDC Global Communications Center in Atlanta for the "Creating Opportunities: Sharing Solutions for Success" grantee meeting, Sept. 9-11, drawing over 250 participants. NACDD had the opportunity to present training and technical assistance resources related to diabetes, heart disease, obesity and its risk factors, and school health and showcase its soon-to-be-released What's Working in Chronic Disease Prevention and Control success story and initiative database. The database will help state and territorial health departments, partners, and decision makers learn more about what's working in states. It's user-friendly, has an interactive map for finding entries, and offers a 1-page PDF format for sharing stories. Look for more information from NACDD via e-mail next week about the opportunity to preview this database and ways to submit and share your state's stories.
