Apply for NACDD’s State Technical Assistance and Review Program (STAR)
STAR is designed to assess chronic disease prevention programs in state and territorial health departments.
The goal of STAR is to support development, implementation and evaluation of chronic disease prevention and control efforts through:
on-site program assessment
recommendations for improvement, and
follow-up assistance in addressing recommendations
STAR examines the extent to which categorical chronic disease programs are integrated into a coordinated approach, using CDC’s Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion Domains and the NACDD Framework for Comprehensive Chronic Disease Programs. STAR also helps prepare states seeking public health accreditation.
If you are interested in applying, contact Lisa Daily (firstname.lastname@example.org or 404 421-4898) as soon as possible. She can discuss potential benefits of your State’s participation, assist with the application process, and advise you on how to have a most successful STAR experience.
