Last year, the NACDD worked with the Endocrine Society and the Partnership for the Accurate Testing of Hormones (PATH) to develop a Strategic Plan and a Communications Plan. This year, the NACDD continues its collaboration with the Endocrine Society and PATH to support activities of the six specific work groups that have been convened as recommended in the Strategic Plan, including workgroups focused on the PATH Website, Messaging, Meeting Session Development, Outreach to Manufacturers, Educational Briefing and Quality. NACDD President Namvar Zohoori and lead consultant Leslie Best are participating in the Quality Workgroup, seeking to develop a comparative effectiveness study related to hormone assay standardization for potential funding. Examples of work underway in the other workgroups include continued advocacy for universal adoption of accuracy-based testing in medical practice and research by launching a Membership Campaign, update and enhancement of the PATH website and an educational campaign to support the CDC Standardization Program. We are also hoping to ensure at least one presentation at a professional conference by a PATH member based upon recommendations in the Strategic Plan and Communications Plan. The annual PATH strategic planning meeting is now scheduled for February 2017. Learn more at PATH.
