02/01/2017 at 3:30pm ET

Overview: 1422 Continuation Guidance document is anticipated in Grant Solutions this week. The Continuation application is due March 3, 2017. Due to the accelerated timeline, there is an option to submit an abbreviated Project Abstract in lieu of a detailed annual performance report (APR) and work plan. The Project Abstract should be a maximum of 2 pages and include a summary of progress achieved from March 1, 2016 through February 28, 2017 and a summary of proposed activities for the September 30, 2017-September 29, 2018 budget year. If the optional Project Abstract is submitted by March 3, 2017, the Year 3 APR and Year 4 work plan are due on May 17, 2017.

Q: When can the funds be spent?

A: Funds awarded for 1422 Year 4 cannot be spent until the end of the current work year (i.e. September 2017).

Q: Will CDC send Notice of Award (NOA) early to obligate the funds?
