The NACDD is working collaboratively with CDC, the Endocrine Society and PATH to improve the quality of laboratory measurements for chronic disease biomarkers. Last year, PATH completed its first-ever strategic plan and a communications plan.
This year, PATH will hold six workgroups to develop strategies and implement recommendations in the plan. These workgroups address communication strategies to the general public and policy makers; outreach to manufacturers; funding opportunities and the PATH website. A fact sheet has been developed for use in communicating the impact of standardized hormone assays for both the general public and policymakers.
The second annual meeting of PATH will convene Feb. 24, 2017, in Washington D.C., where members will provide reports on the progress of each workgroup and develop plans for 2017. Dr. Namvar Zohoori, NACDD past president, has been recruited to represent NACDD at PATH meetings.
