NACDD Releases New School Health Publication

The National Association of Chronic Disease Directors (NACDD) has released a new publication: Achieving Impact: State Successes in Improving School Nutrition, Physical Education, Physical Activity, and the Management of Chronic Health Conditions in Schools that highlights the achievements of select states and local school districts/schools related to the implementation of the school health area of 1305 State Public Health Actions, a cooperative agreement funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

 This publication features a total of 15 states across the country and impacts that have resulted from their project efforts. The examples identify key partners and additional factors, including the CDC, that have been instrumental to success. Additionally, the state stories highlight challenges and successful strategies used to address them, along with next steps in moving their projects forward and plans for sustainability.
