Resources for Implementing the IOM Report on Hypertension
The CVH Council convened a work group in 2009 to translate the recommendations issued by the Institute of Medicine's report on hypertension.
The CVH Council first surveyed states to learn what activities they were engaged in to address hypertension:
Of six focus areas of recommendations, the IOM Report Workgroup focused its efforts on three:
-Improve quality of care through physician adherence
-Eliminate economic barriers to anti-hypertension medication
Increase use and effectiveness of community health workers and pharmacists
