Awareness of the Burden of Arthritis in the States

The National Association of Chronic Disease Directors (NACDD) successfully competed for funding under the CDC-RFA-DP11-1113, National Organizations to Support Arthritis Programs and Policy funding opportunity announcement. One of the projects to be carried out under this program was a partnership with the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) to inform and educate state legislators about the burden of Arthritis in their states. This was to encompass not only the burden to their population (the human side), but also the burden to their state resources (the fiscal/policy side).

NACDD Receives Funds for Diabetes Prevention Efforts

NACDD received two grants to support the National Diabetes Prevention Program (NDPP). One grant will work with NACDD partners to expand the NDPP through developing the organizational capacity of partners to deliver the evidence-based diabetes prevention lifestyle-based program.

Karma dedicated her race this year to the training partners who were unable to endure the punishment and also for a friend who lost his life a few weeks before, in Jacksonville, while training for what would have been his first ironman.
