NACDD, in partnership with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, hosted the National DPP State Engagement Outcomes Summit in February to highlight and celebrate the collective impact of work achieved by state health departments and their partners since hosting their State Engagement Meeting (StEM). Thirty-one state health departments and several national partners submitted a total of 46 outcome briefs highlighting their roles, impacts, reach, partners, and lessons learned. There have been 31 StEMs since 2012 involving 2,328 participants and 1,460 organizations. Partners from each state offered to lead or collaborate on specific action steps. NACDD assists state health departments to plan and implement StEMs as a strategy designed to help engage and expand states’ networks of key stakeholders for development and implementation of a diabetes prevention action plan for scaling and sustaining the National Diabetes Prevention Program (National DPP). Key outcomes from the states that have hosted StEMs will be highlighted in a summary report along with insights and lessons learned from participants and partners.
