Public Health Coordinator

Overview:

The Public Health Coordinator will provide support for all diabetes technical assistance and support project activities including implementation of the NACDD/CDC State Engagement Model, peer learning and leadership development activities (professional development webinars, virtual trainings, communities of practice and other venues that support member sharing, learning, and leadership development), development of resources and tools, and fostering partnerships.  The Public Health Coordinator will serve as the lead resource manager and ensure all new resources developed or used are the most current, relevant to states and posted on the online for ease of state access. The Public Health Coordinator will also support Subject Matter Experts consultants to develop presentations, fact sheets and other documents for the project and will be responsible for maintaining the state member database to ensure consistent communication and engagement of state members.  The Senior Director of Programs in collaboration with the Senior Diabetes Lead Consultants will have direct oversight of all program activities and Consultant deliverables.

Scope of Work:

·       Meet with NACDD consultants to plan deployment of each technical assistance opportunity;

·       Arrange the details of a variety of tasks associated with successful CoPs, NACDD/CDC State Engagement Model, webinars, workgroup meetings, etc.

·       Coordinate all meeting/webinar/training material collection and organization;

·       Coordinate meetings with members;

·       Write and produce finalized meeting notes;

·       Provide support to webinars and other virtual meetings;

·       Update diabetes webpages using the NACDD content management platform;

·       Organize the compilation of all meeting products;

·       Update the diabetes state member database;

·       Edit/proof documents, reports, etc. to support team;

·       Provide direct support to the Diabetes Consultant Team as they deploy content specific technical assistance to states;

·       Promote the organization in a positive and professional manner in all aspects of the work

·       Manage multiple and numerous projects activities to meet project goals/deliverables;

·       Compile and present quality information in form and content;

·       Able to communicate to all levels of management

·       Build and foster relationships;

·       Prepare reports (written reports, oral presentations, or postings on websites) including but not limited to:

o   Chief Executive Officer and/or Board reports (i.e. dashboard reports)

o   Association materials and publications (NACDD annual report, e-bulletin, etc.)

o   Peer reviewed journals

o   Evaluation of conferences and other NACDD training events

o   Assist with program progress reports to CDC or other program funders and stakeholders

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

·       Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Public Health Administration or related field with minimum of two years of experience in the public health, health communications, or health policy, masters a plus;

·       Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently with a team;

·       Effective communication, and organizational skills; attention to detail is required;

·       Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from senior management, staff and consultants;

·       Proven ability in Project Management;

·       Ability to travel to events as needed;

·       Demonstrate attention to detail and adaptability;

·       Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions clearly and comprehensively from all levels of management, NACDD Members and Consultants, and determined stakeholders;

·       Strong project management, prioritization, and planning skills, with demonstrated success producing high-quality deliverables on time;

·       Able to manage multiple projects and manage stress level accordingly;

·       Excellent multitasking skills and problem-solving skills with ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems and recommend solutions;

·       Demonstrate a strong decision-making background with follow up skills and customer service dedication;

·       Able to master technologies and software applications;

·       Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Office Programs (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) is required;

·       Proactive, high energy, motivational, results-driven, and detail-oriented;

·       Exceptional interpersonal skills to communicate effectively orally and written to a wide range of professionals at different levels, internally and externally; listening attentively;

·       Ability to be flexible and be able to adapt to changing circumstances and embrace new ideas and processes

 

Classification:  Contractual/Consultant status

 

Contract Duration: Project contract is 1 year; project duration could be multiple years

 

Annual Compensation: TBD
