Overview:

The overall responsibility of NACDD’s Member Services Specialist (MSS) is to assist with managing membership related outreach. The position will be responsible for recruitment and engagement activities and maintain member database. This person will have a comprehensive understanding of NACDD programs, as well as issues facing our members. This position will directly report to the Director of Membership and Project Management (DMPM).


Specific Job Responsibilities: 

• Supports member services efforts to increase membership in the Association, builds awareness for its benefits and encourages participation in Association’s programs;

• Manages member onboarding, retention, and appreciation activities;

• Coordinates and facilitates Chronic Disease Director Orientation visits and other member services activities;

• Manages current member database and all other program listservs;

• Maintains updated Member Engagement Portal and Association Management Platform;

• Collects all data sets used in member engagement analysis (e.g. general member webinar attendance reports, and email open reports);

• Responsible for the production and posting of membership statistical reports;

• Utilizes available data resources to develop, devise, and implement new means of member communication and marketing materials that effectively convey the NACDD value proposition in a clear and consistent manner;

• Identifies potential new member benefits and works with other departments on implementation;

• Supports designated committees and focus groups;

• Serves as point of contact for Member Services department, reviews and filters incoming correspondence and requests from Members, staff, and consultants;

• Provides a high level of customer service including building relationships through addressing member problems, account inquiries, and other member requests as they arise;

• Assists with the preparation of all member services printed collateral and related materials;

• Knowledgeable of all Association programs and projects as outlined in the project portfolio;

• Analyzes the public health landscape as it relates to member programs and benefits to ensure NACDD is aware of and acting on trends, that affect NACDD membership and its work;

• Manages relationships with vendors who provide services to the Member Services Department;

• Coordinates department meetings and conference calls, which include sending calendar reminders, preparing meeting agendas, meeting notes, and meeting follow-up;

• Maintains and updates department processes manual;

• Organizes and maintains relevant information on intranet for Member Services Department;

• Performs other duties as assigned or as necessary.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration or related field is required; Master’s degree is preferred;

• A minimum of three years of customer service focused experience is required;

• Prior Association or other membership-based organizational experience is required;

• Ability to travel domestically approximately 10% annually;

• Outstanding interpersonal skills, strong written and oral communication skills, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively;

• Proactive, self-starter that understand the importance of creating positive, working relationships with colleagues, NACDD members and other stakeholders;

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Mac OS – preferred;

• Proficiency with Association Management System (AMS) or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software;

• Demonstrate experience in working in a cross-functional collaborative team environment; 

• Demonstrate experience with timely follow up skills; Organized, proactive, and results-driven;

• Able to take direction well and able to establish and maintain professional credibility and diplomacy.
