About the NACDD Cancer Council

Who We Are

NACDD's Cancer Council is comprised of Program Directors and Managers of Comprehensive Cancer Control Programs in each state, territory and jurisdiction. Operating as part of the National Association of Chronic Disease Directors (NACDD) all councils serve to enhance program services through management and leadership skill building activities, mentoring, sharing of resources, networking and providing feedback to each other and to funders. The Cancer Council's work and outputs are educational, energetic and productive. There is a strategic plan, developed by Program Directors that provides direction for council involvement. Program Directors of states, tribes, territories and US jurisdictions who manage CDC funded Cancer programs are both the Council members and its leadership. Council leadership is provided through use of a Steering Committee composed of elected Program Directors from across the nation. There are additional committees of the Council which provide opportunities to work toward Council priorities. The priority areas for 2013 have been Peer to Peer Mentoring and Communication and Resource Sharing. If you would like to join us, we'd be happy to have you!

  • A face to face meeting is scheduled once per year during the CDC Program Directors Meeting.
