Margaret O'Connor Casey, BA, BS, RN, MPH

New York, At Large Director

Ms. Casey has worked in public health for more than 35 years, beginning as a public health nurse in a local county health department, and then at a rural medical center, developing and directing its community health department. She served on the board of the New York State Public Health Association from 2003 to 2007. Ms. Casey is the former director of the New York State Health Department's Healthy Heart Program and is a Consultant to the National Association of Chronic Disease Directors, serving as the Manager for heart disease and stroke prevention. Currently, she serves as the New York State Health Department's Bureau of Community Chronic Disease Prevention's Director, overseeing programs addressing arthritis, asthma, diabetes, disability and health, hypertension, obesity, osteoporosis, sodium reduction, and others.
