ATLANTA (Feb. 27, 2018) – The  National Association of Chronic Disease Directors (NACDD) CEO John W. Robitscher, MPH, announced today that it has relocated its headquarters to The Task Force For Global Health’s offices on Swanton Way in Decatur. The move will support NACDD’s strategic goal to increase its global footprint in chronic disease prevention and control.

NACDD previously was located north of Atlanta, and the move was precipitated by the Association’s significant growth in both staff size and programmatic work during the past five years. NACDD and The Task Force will remain independent and separate entities.

“We weren’t just looking for a bigger office space – we wanted our new location to enhance the work that we do,” said Robitscher, NACDD’s chief executive officer. “By co-locating with The Task Force for Global Health, we anticipate tremendous opportunity to exchange best practices and potentially to partner on new initiatives in the emerging global chronic disease space.”

Dave Ross, ScD, president and CEO of The Task Force for Global Health, said NAACD’s presence at The Task Force is part of a long-term vision to create a new center for global health in Decatur. “NACDD has an exceptional record of helping U.S. states and territories build effective chronic disease programs,” he said. “We look forward to welcoming them to Decatur as we build on our collective expertise and experience to improve public health around the world.”

One of the largest nonprofits in Atlanta, NACDD conducts programming in partnership with every U.S. state and territory to build capacity to prevent and control chronic disease and to promote health. During the last few years, the organization has expanded its program portfolio to include $20 million in federal and private grants to fight some of the leading causes of death, disability, and illness in the United States.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, about half of all American adults (117 million people) have at least one chronic health condition, and one-quarter of Americans experience more than one chronic disease. Patients and their families can experience higher qualities of life  and lower their risks for serious illness through access to programs like those that NACDD develops and implements to help people adopt and maintain healthy lifestyles and behaviors.

NACDD’s Headquarters’ general phone number will remain the same, 770-458-7400, but NACDD’s address will change to:

325 Swanton Way

Decatur, Ga. 30030
