2019 Chronic Disease Academy

The National Association of Chronic Disease Directors has announced the next, invitation-only Chronic Disease Academy will take place on April 9-12, 2019, at the Grand Hyatt in Buckhead, Atlanta, Georgia.

This year’s Academy will be very special as NACDD and the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion will celebrate 30 years of national focus on reducing disease burden and improving health in states, tribes, and territories across the United States.

Want to help us celebrate? Send us your historic photos, videos, and scans of documents about your work fighting chronic diseases and promoting health during the past 30 years for inclusion in exhibits, social media, and presentations at the Academy.

In many cases, scholarships are offered for state chronic disease unit staff to attend and meet with their peers in State, Tribal, and Territorial Chronic Disease Units. Together, Academy attendees will go through intensive professional development training on a variety of competencies and emerging skill areas that can support their growth and effectiveness in their work.

Many of our Academy alumni find their attendance so impactful that they keep returning to us – viewing the Academy as an opportunity to reignite their passion for the work and their dedication to their careers.
