January 2017 Impact Brief
January 2017
NACDD is the only organization representing all state and jurisdictional chronic disease staff, dedicated to building capacity and making public health good for the public.

At NACDD, every new year means new funding for projects that benefit our members and the populations that they serve.

NACDD receives strategic funding from the Centers for disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as well as the Office of State, Territorial, Local Technical Support Branch (OSTLTS). As an OSTLTS national partner, NACDD is the recipient of funding that supports innovative work across the nation and across chronic disease divisions in every state and jurisdiction.

NACDD’s mission to improve the health of the public by strengthening state-based leadership and expertise for chronic disease prevention and control — is fulfilled by the nearly 50 projects that NACDD has been awarded in FY2017.

This January, NACDD presented its work at its annual Public Health Showcase in Atlanta, Georgia. Partners, funders, and members came together to learn from more than 60 poster presentations on NACDD chronic disease projects that are just part of NACDD’s project portfolio. Subject matter experts organized TED-style video recordings during the Showcase, giving guests a more in-depth understanding of the contribution NACDD makes to the field of public health and chronic disease.

After nearly 30 years — your National Association is even more committed to its members — more grateful to its funders and more equipped to achieve its public health mandate.
